Red Vs. Blue

Oh man it's been a while, so first off thanks to those of you that stick around and support my endeavors. Works made personal art time close to nil and when I have free time I try and catch up on the games I've been missing. Been playing some ICO Team Collection HD so along with a much due Zelda piece I may whip up a ICO one as well.

Anyways for the piece at hand this was part of a VS. art showing in Brussels at the Made in Japan (Convention / Art Show), there were some really talented cats who were part of the Geek Art display run by Thomas Oliviri. Check out Geek Art Blog www.geek-art.net/ for more info.
Now the piece is obviously about Pokemon the show featured a collection of epic game rivals.

Having been in 4th grade when Pokemon first hit state side I was swept up in Pokemania. Played the card game, gba games, watched the anime, and hell drew a bunch of them in my spare time. So this is a love letter to my Pokemon corrupted childhood.

The Background is based off the Pokemon Stadium Elite Four arena in the N64 version with some added flair. (God I miss the N64.)

I'm gonna try and update more often not only for you guys but myself as well. Take care all.

PS: I know that if Red picks Squirtle Blue would have Venasaur but I really like Charizard. That and the play of Fire vs Water was very appealing and added to the color contrasts between the two characters. Red vs Blue each having the opposite color Pokemon was very appealing so throw out the logic and just enjoy the match-up.
